DopaFast

Terms of service

The deal between you and DopaFast. Short, because the app does one thing and asks you for nothing.

LAST UPDATED September 1, 2026

What DopaFast is

A timer for taking a deliberate break from your phone. You choose how long, the app counts it down and suggests something worth doing instead, and it keeps a streak of the breaks you finish. That is the whole of it.

What it is not

It is not medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment. “Dopamine fasting” is a popular name for putting the phone down for a while, not a clinical procedure, and this app makes no claim to treat addiction, anxiety, ADHD or anything else. If your relationship with your phone is causing you real harm, talk to a professional — a countdown is not a substitute for one.

No account

There is nothing to sign up for: no name, no email, no password and no server. The app works the first time you open it and never asks who you are. That also means there is nothing to recover — your fasts and your streak live on this phone only, and a new phone starts at zero.

What you write is yours

The ideas you add under “My ideas” stay in the app’s own storage on your phone. We never see them, cannot read them and hold no copy. Looking after them is therefore yours as well: clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it removes them for good.

Price

The app is free and every feature is unlocked from the first launch. There is no subscription, no paid tier and nothing to buy. It pays for itself with a small banner on the Progress and Settings screens and one optional video you can choose to watch to repair a lost streak — never while you are fasting, and never as a full-screen ad you did not ask for.

Fair use

Use the app for what it is. Do not modify it, decompile it, or automate the rewarded video to claim repairs nobody watched: that is the one thing here that costs somebody money, and it is what keeps the rest free.

Guarantees and limits

The app is provided as it is. The countdown and the reminders are handed to your phone’s own operating system, and some manufacturers shut background notifications down aggressively to save battery; if that happens the fast still runs correctly, but the alert may not arrive. Liability is limited to what the law allows, and nothing in these terms takes away the rights a consumer has by law.

Ending it

Uninstall the app. There is no account to close, no email to send and nobody to notify, and everything it held goes with it.

Governing law

Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the protection of the law of the country where you live, and bring a claim before its courts.

Changes to these terms

If they change in any way that matters, it will be said in the store update notes before the new version applies. Carrying on using the app after that is how you accept them; if you would rather not, uninstalling is enough.
